The CQC Inspector Calls Into Dentist Milton Keynes

Appledore MK had its first CQC inspection in November and passed as expected.

The inspector paid to park for 5 hours and yet he only stayed for 3 hours which says a lot !

He was very impressed with our lovely Clinic Manager Claudette and congratulated her on how well she runs Appledore and said that her team were great.

Dentist Milton Keynes Has 2 New Team Members

Appledore recently took on 2 new team members:-

Louise Hobson GDC 151538  our new Dental Therapist joined us on the 4th November 2013 - we needed more hours available for you all to book your hygiene and therapy appointments as Sarah (our other Dental Therapist)is always fully booked weeks in advance. Louise is an experienced clinician and will be an asset to Appledore.
  
Danika Patel our new Trainee Dental Nurse is a replacement for Caitlin our Dental Nurse who recently left to take up Dental Therapist training.

Oral Sex May Give You Mouth Cancer?

Four main risk factors for mouth cancer are:

  • Drinking alcohol to excess
  • Poor diet 
  • HPV
Tobacco is still the main cause for mouth cancer, however experts now suggest that the human papillomavirus (HPV), transmitted through oral sex, could overtake tobacco and alcohol as the main risk factor in the next decade. 

An estimated 60,000 people in the UK will be diagnosed with mouth cancer in the next decade.
