There are 3 main
concerns and they are all about safety.
- How can a beauty therapist or hairdresser who knows nothing about teeth and gums and diseases ofthe mouth be taught in a few hours how to assess if someone is suitable for teeth whitening? - What do they know about dental decay and gum disease?
- What sort of sterilisation and cross infection protocols are they using? - Are they registered with the CQC to provide clinical treatment? - What might you catch?
- What are they using? – They’re not allowed to use hydrogen peroxide, so they try to get around the rules by using nasty chemicals that no dental professional would EVER put near your teeth!!
- Chlorine dioxide damages the enamel and gums as its quite acidic
- Sodium perborate breaks down to hydrogen peroxide at a much higher level than dentists will use and sodium perborate is damaging to the female reproductive system
- Toilet Duck is not banned, but would you want it used to whitenyour teeth?
